What Constitutes an Emergency
If your pet exhibits any of the following symptoms, please contact us immediately.
Respiratory Distress
Labored breathing, open-mouth breathing, or blue-tinged gums.
Trauma & Bleeding
Severe accidents, falls from height, or uncontrolled bleeding.
Suspected Poisoning
Vomiting or tremors following contact with toxic substances.
Sudden Paralysis
Inability to walk, loss of balance, or dragging hind limbs.
Intestinal Torsion/GDV
A bloated stomach and excessive drooling, often seen in larger breeds.
Abnormal Body Temp
Temperatures below 38°C or above 41°C can be life-threatening.

Stay Calm
Your calm demeanor stabilizes your pet. Speak in soft, reassuring tones.
Safe Transport
Place the pet on a flat, firm surface to minimize movement during transport.
Control Bleeding
Apply gentle, direct pressure with a clean cloth. Do not use a tourniquet.
Maintain Warmth
Wrap your pet in a blanket to prevent heat loss, especially during shock.

Emergency cases are seen immediately upon arrival during our clinical hours. Calling ahead allows us to prepare our equipment and surgical suites for your pet.
